IMotion is the wireless motion controller that allows you to experience your PC applications on a big screen such as TV. IMotion uses our SDK technology to track movements that will allow you to control and interact your favorite application on the big screen. IMotion works with a standard web camera that tracks the three LED lights on IMotion in real time.
IMotion also has a motion feedback sensor, which can be used to provide feedback whenever the user gets zapped by an enemy gun in a game, or when he hits a road block while in a racing game or control and 'feel' the surface of a 3D object in virtual space. The user is able to physically feel motion feedback when the IMotion is attached. Find out more about the Motion Feedback below.
The IMotion works with a standard web camera so ensure that your PC has one to help track the LED lights on IMotion. The Velcro straps provided with IMotion allow you to attach it to any part of the body that you want to be 'motion-active'. After attaching the IMotion to your body, ensure that the front face (LED lights) is facing the camera and the lights of the LED are switched on and get set to start exploring the virtual interfaces Intellect Motion has to offer!
To use IMotion with a PC application of your choice, simply download our free driver (also included in the IMotion Toolkit) and make the application motion control active.
With the IMotion Toolkit you can customize the control of existing applications that are provided. You can control IMotion the way you want it - your mouse and keyboard are in your hands now. With IMotion Toolkit you can create your interface to control any PC application by selecting options in the dropdown button. You can create your own gesture or choose one from the library and link it with the PC application or game's hot keys.
Think of IMotion interface as touch screen with z-channel, so that you can actually not only do gestures in the 2D plane, but you can also grab something from in front of you and bring it forward. Dodge, swing to your left - right, jump up, crawl - all these actions can be customized. You can invent new movements by calibrating how the IMotion moves on your standard web camera. It does not require any programming skills; it is as easy as choosing from a dropdown box or entering a value into a sheet. Do it yourself and share you setting with your friends via IMotion Cloud.
Create the most intuitive interface in your very own "Minority Report" style and get endorsed by other users. You are not only limited to shooters or e-commerce as any PC application that uses the keyboard, including typing - can be converted. Now it is your turn to help introduce the most intuitive gestures to some of the best applications and be remembered by the folks by bringing them to the IMotion Cloud.
IMotion can be used in three possible virtual interfaces:
It's an alternative that improves many app and game experiences. We like to think of IMotion creating a virtual touch screen in the air, like a giant motion sensitive space. You can scroll, swipe, grab and flick in such an intuitive way you'll never miss your trackpad, mouse or 4" mobile screen! We can even add 3D dimension so that you can control menu in 3D space.
Everything that can be controlled with a Keyboard/mouse combination we can control with IMotion. That means, as of today, without any integration you can catapult very angry birds at egg stealing pigs with just a flick of the wrist.
Since we emulate mouse and keyboard, any casual or social game available on PC becomes available on your TV in motion control mode. For instance, we can support free games such as Angry Birds in the Chrome Browser.
With IMotion attached you can interact with 3D applications using your hands to move, open or rotate, drag and drop 3D objects at high precision. The advanced version of IMotion controllers actually provide physical feedback so you can 'feel' the object you are touching.
These work so well when you attach your PC to a big screen - if you can afford it, go 60" plus! The game becomes even more immersive and realistic when you are freed from the constraints of a keyboard and mouse. Just imagine how much more fun it is to simply wave your hands about and send your character running, jumping and shooting!
The IMotion is a slim sleek controller that is small enough to fit in your pocket and carry around. The IMotion is 6 cm wide, 7 cm long and 1 cm thick. It is around the size of your palm and extremely light.
IMotion comes with Velcro straps and you can use these straps to attach the IMotion to any part of your body. Simply wind the strap around and secure it firmly with Velcro and don't forget to position the LED lights to face the PC camera.
No. With the Velcro straps of adjustable length, IMotion can be attached to almost anything: legs, arms, waist and even other handheld objects (yes, you can experiment).
IMotion emulates the PC mouse and some keyboard inputs so that all PC applications that use the mouse and simple keyboard inputs are supported - no integration required. Oh, don't forget to download our IMotion Toolkit for your PC.
Yes, IMotion is completely wireless and can be used within a range of 0.3 - 5.0 meters.
IMotion can be charged via USB connection.

IMotion is the product of Intellect Motion the company behind the motion tracking technology. Find out more about Intellect Motion
Intellect Motion develops motion controllers and feedback sensors. We specialize in finding new ways to interact with software. With IMotion all you need is a PC and an HDMI cable to connect to your television. The IMotion controllers are attached to your hands allowing you to control any PC game, app or webpage through intuitive movements. IMotion has the capability to work with smartphones in the same way. Find out more about Intellect Motion here
IMotion has a feedback sensor with an integrated Bluetooth module. This way, the application can send feedback to the IMotion controller. This means that whenever you get zapped by an enemy gun in a game, or when you get crash into a road block in a racing game or even when you 'virtually touch' the surface of a 3D object in the application, a physical pulse is sent by the motion feedback sensor in IMotion.
To make the Motion Feedback technology in IMotion even more interesting and unique, there are 4 different unique channels of motion feedback in each IMotion controller that will not only allow you to feel motion feedback but also sense directional motion feedback that can be integrated in many applications. (For example, a circular vibration pulse can be felt in the hand instead of a single channeled vibration buzz).
Yes, the feedback level and each vibration channel can be adjusted accordingly to range from 'touching a virtual object' to 'physical damage' in applications. The motion feedback can be easily customized using our IMotion Toolkit
The motion tracking technology used by IMotion is highly precise and accurate where it offers 30+ frames per second motion control and an accuracy factor of 0.02 cm. That's 20 times more accurate and 10 times faster than the Kinect.
All you need to use IMotion is a standard web camera with the minimum resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. A higher resolution (Full HD Camera) would allow for better performance of IMotion in terms of angle range and horizontal range. The default lowest resolution of any web camera in the market today is 640 x 480 pixels so essentially every web camera is compatible with IMotion.
IMotion works in a huge range of 0.3 - 5.0 meters and 45 degrees from the camera, depending on its resolution. So you can control your applications from your living room - easily.
Yes, it will work with any Windows/Mac OS - different makes, different kinds as long as your web camera supports IMotion, otherwise you will need a good web camera.
We have developed a special set of controllers for first-person shooters that includes a controller that uses the same technology put together in a gun model. You can play your favorite PC shooter in full 3D motion control mode (no integration required).
Our SDK supports - Windows, OSX and in the future we will be able to support any PC application.
With the many virtual interfaces possible, essentially any application, be it a productivity/utility application or a casual/FPS game, the application can be used with IMotion. With the 3D virtual presence and virtual hands interface, 3D applications are also compatible with IMotion.
The SDK will be available in about a month. Keep yourself updated on news about SDK by following our Kickstarter page!
All you need to do is simply download the SDK and start developing your application for IMotion or integrating an existing application with IMotion. As a developer, you can join the IMotion Developers Program to create the truly Sci-Fi experience like never before. IMotion Developers Portal will allow for developers to share their ideas and work together on applications for IMotion. We plan to support Oculus Rift as well to provide an even more immersive experience.
Users can participate 'physically' in virtual worlds by meeting people, 'touching' objects and controlling applications inside the 3D world. They can control a full 3D experience either in stand up mode (requires two IMotions) or sit down mode (uses only one IMotion) and has the fourth dimension as the motion feedback from the virtual world. Think of virtual meetings where you can 'give a hi-5' to your colleagues located across the seven seas or demonstrate a presentation using our motion control technology (control 'touch screen' in 3D world).
Imagine any 3D application that you have urged to create for years but didn't have the right technology to make it immersive and 'physically REAL' enough. That is now possible with IMotion.
IMotion can be used to create precise and sensitive control of Remote Presence Systems and Robots. You can navigate robots intuitively by moving your body and hand with IMotion attached. Your body would be responsible for movements of remote unit; your hand is responsible for camera view. You can even use your second hand with IMotion attached to provide additional control for back camera or manipulator installed on your RPS. Finally, you can feel the motion feedback pulse when your remote unit faces the obstacle or 'touches' the object.
Just imagine how much more fun it is to have three full 3D motion control devices that your user already knows how to use. Here are some examples of features that you can incorporate in your 3D game:
All mouse and keyboard inputs will be compatible with IMotion. Use your imagination and tweak your application, here are some examples meanwhile.

How about a virtual conference where you can meet and network with people, shake their hands as if you do in real life but without traveling to the actual physical conference? Think of a 3D dating across the world virtually, where the user's beloved lives in the other city!
Yes, IMotion will work with any TV / Screen with HDMI enabled display that can be linked to your PC via either HDMI or Wi-Fi.
Our technology can recognize multiple light sources of different colors with just one camera; therefore several IMotions can be used to create single screen multi-player games for the living room. You can convert your existing PC or mobile games and launch a party version of the game that can support up to 4 people in a living room. It can also be used for family experience. The game doesn't have to support simultaneous game play - it can be turn-by-turn. Also, the motion feedback signal can be sent by the game to a specific player - this is programmable.
